Whitney's strong passion for animals started very young. Her early childhood was spent watching her mother work in a wildlife veterinarian clinic, which soon fueled her dreams of becoming a vet herself. When Whitney wasn't found studying for school or playing soccer, she could be found enjoying the company of her pets. In her teenage years, she began working with horses on a large ranch, volunteered in a local vet clinic, and worked in a program dedicated to the use of therapy horses for people with special needs. There was no doubt in anyone's mind that working with animals was where Whitney belonged. Her dreams of becoming a vet changed when she began to understand that her compassionate and sensitive personality was not capable of handling all the requirements of the job. So, in her late teens, she became a bather in a local pet grooming shop. It was there that she was introduced to dog grooming and quickly started to fall in love with the art. Not only did she get to express herself through creative means, but she was still able to work helping animals. Now with nearly 10 years of experience in the grooming industry, working for and with some of the best groomers in Sonoma and Marin County, she knew it was time to open her own salon.
